Margins (“we,” “us,” “our”) publishes margins-media.com. This page explains what information we collect from visitors and members, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create a free Margins account, whether through email and password or by signing in with Google, we collect your email address, and if you sign up with Google, your name and Google account ID. We use this to create and manage your account and to let you log back in.
Usage data. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, which pages get read, how long people stay, and general location and device information. This doesn’t identify you personally.
Newsletter. If you sign up for our weekly Dispatch or create a free account, your email address is added to our mailing list through Beehiiv, our email newsletter provider. You can unsubscribe from any email we send at any time.
How we use cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in, remember your reading progress on metered articles, and measure site traffic through Google Analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser, though parts of the site, like staying logged in, won’t work properly without them.
Who we share data with
We share data with the services that help us run the site:
- Google (Analytics, and Sign-In if you use it)
- Beehiiv (our email newsletter platform)
- Hostinger (our web host, which processes standard server logs)
We don’t sell your personal information to anyone (I don’t even know how you’d go about selling data, honestly).
Your choices
You can:
- Update or delete your account by contacting us
- Unsubscribe from marketing email at any time
- Ask what data we hold about you
